Supply and DemandThe demand for gold and iron was over realming for the Kush. The demand for gold and iron grew causing the Kushites to need more wood for melting down the gold and iron. The problem was that they were running out of wood to melt the gold and iron which caused the Kush to lose trade and materials.

Trade
Their main trading partner was Egypt because of their riches and small distance from the Kushites' Capitol city of Meroe. Some of the things Kush are iron, gold, timber, salt, skins, copper, stone, ivory, ebony, ostrich feathers, doum, and animals including giraffes. They exported gold, pottery, iron utensils, slaves, ivory, leopard skins, ostrich feathers and elephants. Kush/Nubia was considered the closest trade partner of Egypt over time event though the two kingdoms had a mixed relationship of making trades wars and destruction against each other. Egypt was a very strong competitor against Kush in the ancient days. At one point Egypt conquered Kush and at another point Kush conquered Egypt. Kush was on a high level of trade out of all ancient civilizations.
